Use DayCarp in your AI
Connect DayCarp to the AI app you already use (Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and others that support MCP) and ask it about your notes: “What did I decide about the launch?”, “Which tasks are overdue?”, “Summarise everything tagged #hiring this month.”
Part of Ultimate (and the trial). Your own AI does the reading and thinking, so it doesn't use any DayCarp Cloud AI allowance.
The address
Every app asks for the same server address:
https://note.daycarp.com/mcp
It works for every app: the ones on your computer (Claude Code, Codex) and the ones on the web (claude.ai, ChatGPT).
When you connect, the app opens a DayCarp page in your browser. Sign in if you need to, check the app's name and where it will send you back to, and choose Allow access.
Claude (claude.ai and the desktop app)
- Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it DayCarp and paste the address above.
- Choose Connect, then allow access on the DayCarp page that opens.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings → Apps & Connectors. Custom connectors may need Developer mode (under Advanced settings).
- Choose Create, name it DayCarp, paste the address and pick OAuth for authentication.
- Allow access on the DayCarp page that opens. In a chat, turn DayCarp on from the tools menu.
Claude Code
- In a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http daycarp https://note.daycarp.com/mcp - Start Claude Code, type
/mcp, pick daycarp and choose Authenticate. - Allow access on the DayCarp page that opens in your browser.
Codex
- In a terminal:
codex mcp add daycarp --url https://note.daycarp.com/mcp - Then sign in:
codex mcp login daycarp - Allow access on the DayCarp page that opens in your browser.
Menu names in AI apps change from time to time. If a step doesn't match, look for “connectors”, “MCP servers” or “tools” in the app's settings.
What your AI can do
- Search your notes by words, phrases or #hashtags.
- Read a day's note (“today”, “yesterday” or any date).
- List the days that have notes, your open and done tasks (by due date or hashtag), and your hashtags.
- Follow a hashtag across days.
It can't change or delete anything: every tool only reads. DayCarp tells the AI that your note text is your own writing, not instructions to follow.
Each connection can make about 60 requests a minute. DayCarp keeps a record of which tool was called and when (not what was asked or answered) for 30 days.
Disconnecting
Open Settings → Connected AI apps in DayCarp and choose Disconnect next to the app. It loses access at once. Changing your password disconnects every app. If your plan no longer includes connected apps, they answer with an upgrade message and work again after you upgrade; after 30 days without the plan they're disconnected.
